TeachJava! -- The New AP Curriculum

The TeachJava! Workshop builds on the TeachScheme! Workshop which has pioneered an innovative approach to computational problem solving that stresses systematic data-directed program design. Many teachers now use TeachScheme! as their pre-AP curriculum. The TeachJava! Project provides a gentle transition path to the Java AP curriculum, suitable for all students.

The Project provides:

• free workshops
• free on-line notes and exercises
• free innovative software that supports a friendly programming interface
• free consultation

With the support of the National Science Foundation, the Project will pay reasonable travel (flight, hotel, meals) expenses for 20 participants. The ideal candidates are teachers who are already using the TeachScheme! curriculum.
