The department runs a Corporate Affiliates program, which is designed to allow companies to get easy access to research going on at Rice. Each corporate affiliate is given copies of all departmental tech reports, and is invited to send representatives to a yearly meeting at the end of the school year in which professors and students give presentations on current research. In return, the affiliate pays a yearly fee to the department.
