Preferences

The system provides a user preferences manager. It provides facilities for getting, setting, marshalling and unmarshalling the user's preferences as well as utilties to manage a preferences dialog box. The preferences are stored in ``~/.mred.prefs'' under unix, ``Mred Preferences'' on the macintosh and in ``mred.pre'' under DOS and Windows.

All of the preferences beginning with ``mred'' are reserved for the system.
